As the back-to-school season approaches, it's crucial to ensure that your children are up to date on their physicals and immunizations. Parents play a vital role in preparing their children for these exams. Discussing the need for vaccinations before kindergarten and seventh-grade exams can alleviate stress. They understand that each child is unique, and some may benefit from a week of preparation, while others prefer a discussion on the morning of the appointment.

Parents, please check with your child's school to determine if any forms need to be filled out by their healthcare provider. If required, print those forms, and bring them to the appointment. If you see a new provider, remember to obtain copies of past immunization records, ensuring that vaccines can be updated. Inform your child's provider of any changes in family medical history, insurance, or medication list.

As your child's physical approaches, take the time to note down any questions or concerns you may have about their health and development. Utilize your appointment with your child's provider to discuss these matters, allowing you and your child to start the school year with the knowledge and peace of mind you need.
